Carter Faith is a rising star in the country music industry, but on November 19, she attended her first-ever CMA Awards, giving her the opportunity to be a fan on the biggest night in the genre. The 25-year-old gave Country Living an exclusive glimpse at her gorgeous ensemble before taking her turn on the red carpet. She wore a vintage dress and Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott diamonds.
Carter clarified that she collaborates with Brittney Head, a hair and makeup artist, and Kennady Tracy, her roommate and stylist, to create her looks. She and Kennady searched vintage websites for costumes, and after Kennady had an idea, they decided on a Morphew Atelier gown made from an old silk piano shawl adorned with antique 1920s beads and hand embroidery.
“At first we were looking at our favorite vintage reseller websites, and I don’t have a million dollars,” she said. We therefore want to locate a fantastic offer. We were sold on the Mia Vesper dress I had, which I really adored. We discovered another one after that.
“It’s kind of been a process because we’re obsessed with creating looks,” she added. “The dress I’m wearing to the CMAs is a red 1920s flapper fringe with some beading.” The other day, Kennady came down the stairs and she said, “Carter, listen to me.” I know we’ve already had a look, but I had a dream about this outfit, and I really feel like we should get it. I’m aiming for it because I trust her.”
The ideal match for her appearance? Jewels by Kendra Scott called Layers of Yellow Rose. According to Carter, the range makes her think of old-fashioned accessories. “Even the tint of gold she uses is reminiscent of a bygone era. The pieces are somewhat Art Deco but still Western. All of these historical periods fascinate me, and I enjoy weaving them together into a style and using my attire to tell a tale. Even if it isn’t vintage, you can dress it up and it still feels like it was made by a real person or comes from the soil. The stones are really lovely.
In the upcoming months, Carter will have many more chances to flaunt her sense of style. In addition to an impending tour with Tucker Wetmore and a film with Jessica Chastain, she recently released her debut album, Cherry Valley, in October.
“I’ve been in Nashville since 2018 and so it feels really special to finally put out a full-length record,” Carter stated. “To be honest, a lot of that has happened in the last few months, and I’m thankful to be on the road and have a career doing this. I’m simply trying to take it all in and stay grounded.”
