When Matthew McConaughey found out he would become a father, it was everything he had ever wanted. However, things took an unexpected turn when he told his mother.

Finding “a woman that you’re in love with and that you know is going to be a great mother” was the true obstacle, he said on “This Past Weekend with Theo Von.” “I always knew I wanted to be a father.”

He discovered exactly that when he met Camila Alves, but getting married wasn’t the next step right away.

MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY claims that his 13-year marriage was aided by a queen-size bed.

Perhaps that’s because her parents were married twice and divorced three times, while mine were married three times and divorced twice. We had a history of saying things like, “Well, I don’t know about this.”

According to McConaughey, the two were happy together and didn’t want to get married just because other people felt they should.

“Well, we’re moving forward… We don’t want to get married because that’s what you’re ‘supposed’ to do, but it’s going fantastic,” he remarked. “I don’t want to back into it because someone said, ‘Legally, it’s …’, no, bulls—, I want to want it. We thought, ‘We’re doing good,’ but I wasn’t against it.

One night, McConaughey returned home to a scene he was unaware was preparing for a revelation that would change his life: cheeseburgers on the grill, his favorite tequila poured, and a gift.

When he opened the present, he discovered a sonogram. After shedding “tears of joy” together, they made the decision to tell his mother the good news over the phone. The connection became silent as soon as he informed her that they were expecting.

“Crickets,” he remembered. “The next thing you hear is, ‘Matthew, no, no, no, no! This is out of order! You weren’t raised by me to do this. You should be married, Matthew. and continued incessantly for five minutes before hanging up.

McConaughey’s phone rang once again ten minutes later. After returning his call, his mother asked him to put her on speaker so she could talk to Alves and him.
