View the exclusive pitch presentation that Valerie Health used to secure a $30 million, Peter Shalek, CEO of Valerie Health, uses an odd pitch when he shows clinicians his product: “This is a weird demo, because you’ll never have to use this software.” Shalek co-founded Valerie Health with Nitin Joshi, the founder of Uber Health, with the goal of completely automating time-consuming front-office healthcare processes including patient scheduling and referrals.

In order to help the company generate new income and venture capital, it is taking up such responsibilities for independent provider groups. Redpoint Ventures led the $30 million Series A fundraising that Valerie Health recently obtained, the business said on Tuesday. With this increase, Valerie Health has raised $39 million since its start in 2024.

According to Shalek, Valerie Health already collaborates with a number of the biggest independent provider organizations in the country in fields including cardiology, podiatry, and urology. According to Shalek, provider groups frequently face the same front-office difficulties across specialties: balancing patient intakes and follow-ups against a backlog of referrals.
Hospitals may buy provider groupings or private equity companies may consolidate them as a result of these administrative difficulties and associated financial strains. However, those agreements may result in increased patient bills and decreased satisfaction for the affected providers. Shalek wants Valerie Health to support independent providers.
“I believe there is a chance to make independent practice the most convenient, profitable, and high-quality place to provide care, which is really our main goal,” he stated. Valerie Health assumes responsibilities for healthcare front offices while keeping its own staff informed to assess the software’s independent actions.
According to Shalek, Valerie Health also aids in the expansion of practices by expediting the processing of both new and current patients, resulting in an average increase in patient volume of 5% to 7%.
There is a lot of rivalry for the startup. The Andreessen Horowitz-backed startup Tennr, which raised $101 million in Series C funding in June at a $605 million valuation to concentrate on automating patient referrals, is one of many businesses aiming to automate administrative duties for hospitals and healthcare providers.

According to Shalek, Valerie Health’s unique focus on autonomous provider groups and its capacity to automate tasks without the involvement of healthcare practices are what are driving growth. “Although it requires a lot of work on our part, it enables us to simply solve these issues for our clients without having to say, ‘Here’s another piece of software for you to train your personnel on. These practices don’t want that at all. “They simply want us to complete the task,” he remarked.
As the market fills, Valerie Health wants to act quickly. According to Shalek, the business will continue to develop front-office solutions, like voice AI agents for patient follow-ups, while concentrating on attracting new clients in the upcoming year. Since Valerie Health began selling its technology earlier this year, its revenue has tripled from the previous quarter alone. Shalek stated that he anticipates revenue growth of six to seven times next year due to the company’s current pipeline of clients and the market demand.
Additionally, the business is hiring for its technical, product, and sales teams. Additionally, Joshi worked as an engineering manager at the finance startup Stripe for two years. According to Shalek, Valerie Health has been able to attract expertise from both Uber and Stripe as it grows.
